This is an ambitious and very well-constructed allegorical tale, retelling the story of the Fall and Redemption via a fascinating cast of characters from bird to human worlds. The fantasy world has been cleverly constructed and is well defined within its own logical boundaries, and the author is obviously technically accomplished, keeping a strong grip on the intertwining of the two worlds and her large cast. The pace of the narrative is maintained throughout, the dialogue is convincing, and the style is very readable.

‘Donigath is evil and very powerful. He has stolen the crown of Eya-gall, lord of the birds of the air, using its power to destroy their lands. Now, the time of deliverance is near…..’. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, but then I am a fan of books for young people, and like happy endings, but is it the ending? We shall have to wait and see! The occasional line drawings are just enough to break up the text.) Click here to visit the Good Bookstall Web page.
